Walking in the Light

Essentials For Sanctification
by Margaret Ashmore

4 disc teaching series

A Sovereign God In A Broken World. The sovereignty of God is the ultimate truth that meets the need of every human being. It is the comfort of knowing that whatever happens in our lives has love and an eternal purpose behind it.

Life In The Meantime
At salvation we were saved from the penalty of sin. One day when we die (glorification), we will be saved from the very presence of sin. But what is happening in the meantime? God is saving us daily from the power of sin! This is a message of how God effects real and lasting change in our lives.

The Beatitudes – Matthew 5:1-10
This is Jesus’ first sermon. It is His inaugural address. In it He lays down the foundation of our Christian life as if to say, “if you don’t get this, everything you build in your life will be on shaky ground.” This message is all about the distinctive joy that comes from living right side up in an upside down world.

The Fundamentals of our Faith
In Proverbs 24:10 we read, “If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is limited.” These are the essentials – The Word, Prayer, Meditation, Confession and Repentance, Keeping a Clear Conscience and the Unity of the Body of Christ – those “means of grace” by which God strengthens us for all things.

A Fallen Word

A Fallen World-A Risen Savior

by Margaret Ashmore

4 disc teaching series

It is a fallen world but we do indeed have a risen, triumphant Savior. We read in Romans 8:35 and 37, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

This four part series speaks of Christ’s birth “to save us all from Satan’s power when we had gone astray”, His death and resurrection which broke the power of sin and death for all who believe, the joy of so great a salvation when we were saved from the penalty of sin and the ongoing power of the cross to save us from the power of sin.

The Beatitudes – Living Right Side Up In An Upside Down World
Matthew 5:1-11

Someone has asked C.S. Lewis if he cared for the Beatitudes, “As to caring for it, if “caring for,” means liking or enjoying, I suppose no one cares for it. Who can like being knocked flat on his face by a sledgehammer? I can hardly imagine a more deadly spiritual condition than that of a man who can read it with tranquil pleasure.”

This expository look at this sermon is indeed a sledgehammer of truth needed to right our worldly focus thus turning it back unto the Lord. It is one of five long discourses called the Sermon on the Mount. Since it is Jesus’ first sermon, He is laying for us a foundation as if to say, “If you don’t get this, you’ll be building on a shaky ground.”

The Wedding At Cana – A Study on the Abundant Life
John 2:1-11

This story begins with emptiness and ends with abundance, all because of two commands of Christ; “fill the water pots” and “draw some out”. In this expository talk on the first sign of Jesus’ deity in the book of John, we see the exhortations and the benefits of waiting on God, of telling God our need but not demanding how He answers it and how the Christian lives an abundant, overflowing life.

7 Letters

The Seven Letters to the Seven Churches

God’s Commendation and Criticism of the Church Today
by Margaret Ashmore

7 disc teaching series - $30.00

Chapter 1 of Revelation contains instruction; “Write the things which thou hast seen.” Chapters 4 through 22 contain prophecy; “Write the things which shall be.” However, chapters 2 and 3 are about “The things which are.” That is the seven letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor written by the Apostle John from the isle of Patmos; in the Aegean Sea from about 95 A.D. to the close of the century. John was in the spirit and tells us divine revelation and exhortation pertaining to this present age. In these two chapters are the most incisive and penetrating exhortations in the entire New Testament in relation to church doctrine and Christian living

Prone to Wander

Prone to Wander

Studies on Redemption
by Margaret Ashmore

6 disc teaching series - $30.00

“Prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Take my heart, oh take and seal it. Seal it in Thy courts above.” – Robert Robinson 1758

This series offers studies from the Old Testament books of Hosea and the Psalms for anyone who has ever wandered from the Shepherd of their souls and longed for restoration from the waste places of life. Can God use our failures for His glory? Is there hope when we have “blown it”? What does God require for restoring the soul? How can we walk in consistent obedience? This study offers biblical answers and clear instruction for those who are “prone to wander”.

dark night

The Dark Night of the Soul

Waiting for the Dawn
by Margaret Ashmore

4 disc teaching series - $25.00

Have you ever felt as though all the things on which you have depended for love, significance and acceptance have been stripped away? That all the “props” of life have been kicked out from under you? Have you ever been through a time in which people fail you, abandon you or hurt you? Are you tempted to ask, “God, are You with me in this darkness?”

The truth is, God has appointed to each of us, that “dark night” through which we must pass until the Light of deliverance arrises in our souls. In these talks, we will look at this work of God in effectively diminishing “self”, which eclipses that Light and that He does so by taking each of His children through what the mystics of old called “The Dark Night of the Soul”. You will find that “His song will be with you in the night” (Psalm 42:8) and you will proclaim as David in 2 Samuel 22:29 “For You are my lamp, O LORD; and the LORD illumines my darkness.”

Salvation is from the Lord

A Study on the Book of Jonah
by Margaret Ashmore

4 disc teaching series - $25.00

If I had one shot at discipling a woman, a would teach them the book of Jonah. It’s main Points? 670 times in scripture, we hear the term; “wake up”. This is not only God’s wake up call to complacent Christians but also a warning regarding the dangers of delayed obedience. We also see how a Christian can have strong doctrine and still live out of “self” and emotion. Too, this book zeroes in on the biblical treatment of anger. This counter revolutionary; anti-talk show, anti-secular psychology, anti-rationalism book is “counseling according to God.”

Jonah is unique in that it is a prophetic parable. In all other prophetic books the object is their oracles. Jonah’s oracle is only 5 words long. God is more concerned with His prophet than his prophecy. The condition of his soul, blinded by anger, self-righteousness and pride, and God’s loving discipline of him is what this book is all about.

Shining In Darkness

A Study on the Book of Esther
by Margaret Ashmore

4 disc teaching series - $25.00

God is Invisible But Invincible
In this great book we see the transformation of Esther who was beautiful outwardly (chosen out of 400 women for that beauty) but who stood in need of inward beauty. This book tells us how God developed that “inner, unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit” and how He took Hadassah (Myrtle bush) and exalted her to Esther (star).

Much of the sovereignty of God is brought out in this teaching because though God appears invisible in the book of Esther, He proves Himself to be invincible by His providential work behind the scenes, accomplishing His purposes, even through the wickedness of man.
